At it's core, ACCESSing Our History is a story telling project. In 1976, ACCESS was founded as a rape crisis center. In the 45 years that we've been serving survivors, we've changed quite a bit. From expanding our reach to four additional counties to adding services like 24/7 help lines and a shelter for victims and their families to stay at, we're constantly reassessing how we provide services in order to serve survivors as best as we can.
ACCESSing Our History aims to hear and highlight the stories of past staff, volunteers, interns and board members in hopes of recording and documenting our history to live on forever but also to celebrate all those that helped us get here.
We hope you are excited to dive into 45 years of ACCESS history with us!
We partnered with KHOI (89.1FM) to dive into the interviews and stories we've been collecting. We also pulled in additional voices to reflect on the clips and on ACCESS history. Listen to them by clicking the links below!
